Recognizing the untapped potential and power of teenage volunteers and a desire to bring teenagers to the table as stakeholders in our community, United Way of madison County developed the United Way youth Leaders Council. The Council, or Youth, operates on four tenets: Leadership, Community Education and Training, Community Service and Fundraising.
The Council brings together students from different schools and socio-economic backgrounds to form a cohesive army of student volunteers working together to achieve the common goal of making our community a better place to live.
Members are required to complete 5 volunteer service hours per month and attend twice monthly meetings. Applications are accepted annually in August. All traditional, private and home-school high school students are eligible for membership.
